{walk after dinner}

Photobucket

Monday, after dinner, I took the girls out for a walk. It was about seventy degrees and beautiful. And even though this picture doesn't really show it, Emily wanted to stay with me and hold my hand, and Paige wanted to RUN ahead. She has figured out how to gallop, and likes to practice as much as possible.

When we returned home Emily posed for a few...and yes, that's apple in her mouth. This was her favorite picture. I got her to laugh like that by simply saying, "underwear".

{cowgirl}

This child, who lately wants nothing to do with the camera, ran downstairs the other night and shouted, "Mom, quick! Get the camera and take a picture of me!".

Okay, sweetie. I will.

The hat, horse, and fuzzy boot slippers - that you can't really see - belong to Paige.

{field day 2010}

Last Friday was Emily's field day. After the really hot and humid temperatures of the last few days, were greeted Friday morning by mid sixties and no humidity. Thank you Mother Nature.

So, yeah, she doesn't look excited. I think she was just wanting to get going, and I was holding her back by taking pictures.

I was assigned to the Tug o'War - again. This time, instead of the Kindergartners, we had both the first and second graders. By the time Emily's class showed up, I was EXHAUSTED. You see, I don't just explain the rules and shout "Go!" - I try to get the kids really into it...and, this year, my voice was cracking by the end. It was really fun. Brought me back to my old teaching days....

Photobucket

In fact, I was having so much fun with all the kids, in every class, that I forgot to go and take pictures of Emily doing all the other activities.

At least I remembered to get a class picture!

{teddy time}

Paige LOVES stuffed animals. She's not particularly attached to any one, she changes that daily, hourly.....

She has a HUGE bin in her closet full of them. I have tried to weed them out, but I swear, she remembers each and every one, and will totally call me out on certain ones that I have "removed" or deemed yucky. In fact, the yucky ones usually get the most love.

Except today. Today she was all about this bear. Most definitely not yucky.

Photobucket

My Mom gave Emily a teddy bear when she was born, and this bear is the one she got for Paige.

Photobucket

Isn't he cute?

Photobucket

He usually resides on a shelf up high in her room. She spied him this morning and has been carrying him around all day.

{rain}

Oh my goodness, it has been really rainy around here. In fact, stormy is a much more appropriate term. These pictures of Paige were taken on Wednesday of last week - before the real bad weather rolled in.

I am thinking that I am going to have to get her a much more appropriate umbrella - to go with her stylish boots.

She was so excited to get out there and play in the rain....what little there was.

And then we heard some thunder in the distance, so we ran back inside.

{painting}

My Mom bought Paige this totally cool paint book thingy - as YES, that's a highly technical term. Basically, you just use some water and a brush, and you go to town. When it dries, the image disappears and you can do it all over again.

Needless to say, Paige LOVES it.

{the other daughter}

This blog has been a little Paige centered as of late. And don't think that I haven't noticed it. She's home with me all day. She's not allowed to leave the house without me. She's GLUED to my side.

Emily, on the other hand, is at school all day...although, in a couple weeks, that will change. She's also allowed outside without me. She goes over to play at her friend's house. She's been eluding my lens....until last night.

Photobucket

I was putting Paige to bed when I came in to remind Miss Emily that she needed to be reading her books. The light was so sweet....I BOLTED down the stairs to get my camera. She wasn't happy about me clicking away, but she obliged me a few.

And then, in a way that only Emily can, she politely told me to leave....
