{school clothes}

Going back to school. It's always been one of my most favorite times. When I was younger, going back to school meant: a new lunchbox, new school supplies, new sneakers, and most important of all...NEW CLOTHES.

I get to relive all of this again with my girls. And it's even more awesome than I remembered. Luckily, for me, Emily could pretty much care less about what I buy for her to wear. It's not exciting to her at all. AWESOME! I have already talked about Paige and her wardrobe on here...but luckily, we have a couple more years before she starts Kindergarten....

Anyway - this outfit, that Emily is wearing in these pictures, is MY FAVORITE....I bought it for her while I was running through Target. It literally jumped out at me and said, "BUY ME!!!". So, I did. Whoever thought of that marketing campaign, GENIUS!

You can't see it in these pictures, but the pants have little rhinestones that go up the outside seam. So cute! (can you tell that I like it?)

All the way down to the shoes. Aren't they AWESOME? I am not usually a match-y person, but if they had these in my size, I would have to buy them and match my daughter.

Holy Crap! When did my daughter's feet become so grown up?

{painting with Grandma}

Last Thursday, my Mom came over to watch the girls while Eric and I went to Curriculum Night at Emily's school.  She also helped out with dinner and had it all ready for when we returned. My Mom is a gem.

 After dinner, she and the girls went outside. When they cam back in, they were girls with a plan...and a handful of leaves.

Grandma decided that they were going to paint the leaves and make imprints. Cool, huh? I think all the girls heard was PAINT and they went running inside. They could not get to the art cabinet fast enough.

So here they are, watching Grandma. And, I KNOW, all they were thinking was, "That's so cool! Now, when's my turn?".

See Paige? She being very patient. She's got her paint picked out and all ready.

And then it was her turn.

While Paige was having her turn, Emily wanted to have her turn as well. Of course, we could not find the other paint brush. We ransacked the art cabinet, the junk drawer in the kitchen, even the garage...nothing. Then I remembered that I had a paint brush, that was big enough, with all my scrapbook stuff. So then, Emily was in business.

Lucky girls. They had a blast.

{fly a kite}

We have had these kites for about two years now. We bought them in the beginning of spring with every intention of using them....then they got put away and forgotten. Until now.

It was really windy, so it was quite difficult to keep them up once they became airborne. In fact, they became a little bit scary and I thought someone might just lose an eye. But they didn't.

However, I would not advise flying kites in 30mph winds......just a tip!

{boy?}

I have written quite a bit about how Paige LOVES dresses. I think I have also talked about how much she loves PINK. Apparently, this love for pink and dresses runs DEEP.

It's September in Michigan. The weather is unpredictable. Hot one day and cold the next. Little cute summer dresses are not always a good idea.

This is very bad news for this little girl.

Photobucket

"Momma! I wook wike a boy."

Photobucket

Seriously. If it's not a dress. It must be a boy's outfit.

Photobucket

Lucky for her, I have quite a few dresses for MUCH cooler weather. But, they would be way too much for 70 degree days. Poor baby. My poor, cute, baby boy?

{first day 2010}

Do you ever have one of those times when the planets all align, and all the pictures you take are just exactly what you envisioned? This morning, was one of those mornings.

Photobucket

Beautiful weather. Beautiful girl. Hopefully, her day goes just as beautifully. Actually, I hope her whole second grade year goes beautifully.

Photobucket

I love these jump pictures.

That backpack weighs 1,000 pounds.

This picture...is my favorite. She's blowing a kiss to her little sister. Her little sister who became her best friend over the summer. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture.
Photobucket

I know she's going to have a super day. She's such a sweet, smart, funny, cute, and beautiful girl. We are so blessed.

{the littlest cowgirl}

Just a handful of pictures of Paige from yesterday. She and Emily have been playing quite a bit of dress up lately. She wandered downstairs to look for something and I distracted her with a few photos.

"Can I get back to what I would rather be doing Mom?"

And with that, she rode off into the sunset.

{second grade}

My Emily Jean starts second grade on Tuesday.
Photobucket

This summer, she grew up. And I swear, it must have been overnight. I mean, really, I was with her all the time, you think I would have noticed all this growing up.
Photobucket

She's all ready to start her third year of elementary school. We have bought all her school supplies, planned her first day outfit, and found out her teacher's name. If you ask her, she'll tell you she's excited and only a tiny bit scared.

I just know she's going to have a great year!
