{almost the end}

Well, we are in our last couple weeks of summer vacation. And we are trying to make the most of it. I still can't believe how fast it has gone by...and yet, I would very quietly like to say, I am kind of glad. But you didn't hear me say that right? It's the scheduled girl in me......

The girls are still enjoying their pool. I really wish that we could put it someplace else. It's big, and our patio is not, so when they splash around, everything gets WET. This includes me, my book, my Mac, my camera.....I have learned to sit on the far end of the table while I watch them swim.

Paige does not venture into the pool unless has her swim ring. This is a good thing....and it's also a bit annoying. But if making her safe is annoying, I am willing to put up with that.

And they enjoy their popsicle breaks.

{a little bit crazy}

I was in Emily's room the other night, putting her to bed, when I noticed the obscene about of times her name appears in her room.

 It appears on her wall - she has had those letters since she was a baby.

On a piggy bank -

Her name spelled out with Mary Engelbright letters -

On her door. (incidentally - she made that butterfly when she was in 3 year old preschool. It has been on her door ever since she brought it home.)
Photobucket

Spelled out with Bendaroos on her dresser. I forgot to take a picture of it, but her name is also on that white jewelry box on her dresser.
Photobucket

Even a little sign on her bulletin board.
Photobucket

Oh, and let's not forget her chair.
Photobucket

Even Paige has gotten in the game...although, she only has four things...let's give her time.

Well, if nothing else, at least if they ever wake up and forget who they are, it won't take much to try and remember.....

Also, this weekend, I made them each their own pendant banners to hang over their windows, and can you guess what I put on them? Pictures of those later.....

{our newest gamer}

Paige has caught the electronic gaming bug. Emily finally gave up the Leapster and Paige is now ADDICTED. Seriously. She played with that thing for at least 30 minutes before I had to TEAR it away from her.

I have no idea if she knows what she is doing, but she sure looks like she does. And she's only three.....

Will a DS be on her Christmas list? Let's hope not!

{girl in orange dress}

A couple months before summer I started buying my girls their summer wardrobe. Emily likes mostly shorts, t-shirts and tank tops. Paige, as you may well know, is all about her dresses. I bought her a couple, and I was planning on buying her more...that was until I remembered that Emily had quite a few dresses in the 3T/4T size. Fourteen to be exact. And most of them were probably only worn by her once. Emily has never really been about dresses....except that she is more into them now...wonder why? :)

And before you go wondering why I would buy Emily 14 dresses, don't worry. I didn't buy most of them. At least 80% of them are hand-me-downs from my old friend in Florida, Tracy.

This orange number, is one of them.

Now, I love the orange, but I just could not resist converting these into b&w.

And in case you are wondering, I have already accumulated five fall/winter dresses for this girl. None of them Emily's - there was no need in Florida!

{friday cuteness}

Just some cute little girls to brighten up your Friday - they sure do brighten up my world.
(They can drive me crazy too. In fact, they tend to do this a lot....I know. You are shocked.)

{halloween in August?}

The girls have really been into dressing up lately. It's been all about princess dresses and tiaras around here...until they dug a bit deeper in Paige's closet and found the collection of Halloween costumes. Then it was all about witches and pumpkins.

Photobucket

Do I need to mention that it was well over 90 degrees? Yeah, that pumpkin costume is two thick layers of fleece. Also, I think it will be at least a year before Paige is ready for that one.

Happy Halloween!

{shaving cream 2010}

Emily attended a shaving cream party at a friends house last week.

It all starts with just a little bit...

Photobucket

and then a little bit more...
Photobucket

and then a whole lot more!
Photobucket

Maybe even a mohawk...
Photobucket

I guess you can never have enough...
Photobucket

Photobucket

It's not over until you have a quick rinse in the slip and slide.

Photobucket

(we did wash out her hair with shampoo right after it all - last year we just rinsed it out with water, and her hair had the consistency of hay for about a week)
