{first and last 2011}
So today is Emily's last day of second grade. When I was walking her to the bus stop this morning, it truly did not feel like it was the last day of school. It wasn't that it wasn't warm enough - it was only in the sixties this morning, but really, that's pretty normal for this time of year. I think it's most likely that we've been really bust for the last few weeks, and this whole last day thing is just another day to mark off on our busy schedule. Emily has another softball game tonight, we have a garage sale tomorrow, and Eric's mom will be visiting for a week starting tomorrow afternoon. So, I have a lot on my list for today.
BTW - the one major thing that I notice between the two photos - the light on a September morning is a lot nicer than the light on a June morning. I also notice that my girl's baby face is pretty much gone. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that she'll be in third grade come September......
oh - and I HAVE to get her a haircut.
Happy Summer!!

{field day 2011}
Last Friday was field day at Emily's school. She was so very, very, very excited. She looks forward to this day all. year. long.
Where are the pictures from the field on Field Day? Where are the pictures of my daughter participating in all the fun activities? Yeah.....so.....I have two. And they kind of stink. I quickly ran around to get a couple shots while she was at the other activities - and I was being quick because even though we had nine people to cover our station, when five out of the nine people there leave, four is just enough to keep the activity running smoothly.....As it turns out, Emily's class was the last class to come to our station - colored rings. And because their teacher spent a couple of minutes talking to the class before they did our activity, she missed out on participating. Only half the class got to do the activity - and she was in the second half. I don't have any pictures of her crying...sorry about that. All in all, she still had a good time, but it just stinks that she didn't get to do her own Mom's activity.
Does any of that make sense? Oh well......Yea for Field day!

{baseball with Paige}
Last Wednesday Paige wanted to take a little batting practice....so Daddy had to show her where to put her feet, and how to hold the bat.
And, how to fetch the balls that she hit.
Isn't she supposed to have her eye on the ball?
THIS is how you swing....
She took a few really good swings. I am really looking forward to t-ball next year with her. Hopefully, she'll still be into it....
